The Robeson County Sheriff's Office plans to deliver Halloween goodies straight to the doorsteps of children with special needs. These kids, who might find trick-or-treating difficult, won't miss out on October 31.

"The Robeson County Sheriff's Office wants everyone to have a safe and fun Halloween," deputies said, in a social media post.

Officers will make their rounds in the afternoon, bringing the spirit of Halloween right to the front door. This service makes sure no child misses the magic of this spooky holiday.

Families in Robeson County can get on the list through two simple steps. They can reach out to Major Tammy Deese by phone or send an email.

Want to sign up? Call Major Deese at 910-671-3109 or send an email to tammy.deese@robesoncountysonc.gov.

The sign-up needs just a few key details like the child's name, address, and a way to contact the family. Direct messages and social media requests won't work for this program

Each year, these special deliveries bring smiles to more faces. It's become a cherished tradition for both the officers and families alike.

Across the country, similar programs are popping up as police departments find new ways to serve their neighborhoods during holidays.

Time matters. Interested parents should act fast to secure a spot. The officers will work out the perfect time to visit each home on Halloween day.
