The City of Fayetteville and Cool Spring Downtown District will host the fifth annual District New Year's Eve Spectacular on December 31 from 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. at Festival Park. Bubba Sparxxx, Yung Joc, and the R&B trio 702 will perform.

Bubba Sparxxx hails from LaGrange, Georgia. Born Warren Anderson Mathis, he blends hip-hop with country sounds in ways few rappers attempt. His 2001 debut, Dark Days, Bright Nights, climbed to number three on the Billboard 200 and spawned the hit 'Ugly.' Five years later, The Charm gave fans 'Ms. New Booty,' a track that dominated radio waves.

Yung Joc exploded onto the scene in 2006. His single 'It's Goin' Down' peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100, catapulting him to stardom. New Joc City, his first album, earned platinum status. Hustlenomics followed in 2007, reaching number three on the Billboard 200. Born Jasiel Amon Robinson, he now hosts radio shows and appears on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.

Las Vegas birthed 702, who named themselves after their hometown's area code. Sisters Irish and LeMisha Grinstead joined forces with Kameelah "Meelah" Williams to create the trio. Their 1999 self-titled album delivered Where My Girls At?, which soared into the Billboard Hot 100's top five and became a defining anthem of late-'90s R&B.

Local bands will command the District Vibe stage throughout the evening. DJ sets will keep crowds moving. Food trucks will serve up everything from barbecue to tacos, while kids can enjoy activities designed just for them.

Midnight brings the main attraction. An 18-foot multi-colored star will ascend into the sky as 2025 becomes 2026. Fireworks will burst overhead, painting the night with brilliant colors and thunderous booms that signal fresh beginnings.
