The Buddhist monks and their "Walk for Peace" have braved the sleet and snow of the winter storm in North Carolina. The group spoke to thousands at the North Carolina State Capitol and braved temperatures in the 20s.

Sunday, they made their way out of Raleigh, marking day 92 of their peace walk.

The "Walk for Peace" is a 2,300-mile walk of monks from Fort Worth, Texas, to Washington, D.C. They are expected to end their journey by asking Congress to recognize Buddha's day of birth as a federal holiday. The walk is expected to conclude in mid-February.

The monks are expected to make their way through Rolesville via U.S. Highway 401 toward Franklin County. Temperatures are expected to be even lower than as they continue to make their way through North Carolina.
