The Robeson County Sheriff's Office is searching for detention officers and armed detention officers. The department covers state-required training costs, equipment costs, and uniform costs. A position as detention officer is a great opportunity for those looking to later become a Deputy Sheriff.

According to the Robesonian, The positions pay starts at $47,703.86 with a requirement to work 12-hour shifts, 14 days each month. Years of previous experience or advanced certificates can increase pay by up to 5%.

The job offers a wide list of benefits: paid on-the-job training, insurance coverage, and parental leave with pay. Overtime gets paid. Vacation, sick leave, and holidays are part of the package. County retirement and 401k plans automatically get a 5% contribution from the county, whether you chip in or not. Every worker receives a $10,000 insurance policy at zero cost.

You must be 20 years old by your first day. U.S. citizenship is required, along with a high school diploma or GED.

A North Carolina driver's license is necessary. You do not need to live in Robeson County to apply for this position.
