DAV (Disabled American Veterans) and RecruitMilitary will co-host a hiring event at Fort Bragg on Feb. 26. It runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Iron Mike Conference & Catering Center. Veterans, their spouses, active duty military personnel, and members of the National Guard and Reserve can attend without paying a fee.

More than 49 employers seeking workers will be there. They represent industries like construction, medical services, administrative work, and logistics. Jobs span from entry positions all the way up to senior management roles.

Attendees can receive career counseling. Resume assistance is available, too. The event creates chances to connect with other veterans and military personnel. Department of Veterans Affairs benefits support and claims assistance will be on hand.

This year, the organization will sponsor more than 95 job fairs. Since 2014, when the employment initiative launched, these fairs have produced over 200,000 job offers within the military community.

The group published The Veteran Advantage: DAV's Hiring Guide for Employers of the Military Community. This guide supports employers and demonstrates why hiring America's 4.5 million veterans with service-connected disabilities makes business sense. It gives tips and tools to companies that want to improve how they recruit, hire, and keep this talent pool.

Jeremy Yost serves as Assistant National Employment Director. He's a service disabled Marine veteran. Yost discusses trends in veteran and military spouse hiring, plus shares details about employment resources and job opportunities across the area and the country.

Those interested in attending can register at jobs.dav.org. The site provides access to additional free resources for veterans and their families.
