Fayetteville Awards $115,500 in Microgrants for Crime Prevention Programs
Fayetteville is empowering the community with 22 microgrants to community safety programs.

Fayetteville distributed $115,500 in microgrant funding to 22 groups to stop crime and violence. The Empowering Community Safety Microgrant Program disbursed amounts ranging from $1,500 to $10,000 per group.
The Economic and Community Development Department spearheaded this effort with the Office of Community Safety. Winners were announced on February 26.
"These micro-grants are about building safer communities from the ground up," said Director of Economic and Community Development Chris Cauley, per a media release. "By investing directly in the people and organizations doing the work every day, we are supporting efforts that reduce violence, strengthen families, and create real pathways to stability and opportunity."
Tier Four winners received the top $10,000 awards. Greater Life of Fayetteville will host trauma-informed dialogue sessions. ROOTS Mentoring will provide in-school mentoring at eight Cumberland County Schools with clubs in barbering, yoga, creative arts, and boxing.
Future Endeavors Life Program will offer a 31-session anger management series. Cumberland County Association for Indian People will restore Native American community spaces with youth open gyms, senior activities, and cultural classes.
T-House Technology Training & Consulting will deliver STEM classes at recreation centers. Jai6 Youth Foundation will create safe space events in parks, schools, and churches. Communities In Schools of North Carolina will expand student supports at Alger B. Wilkins High School.
All In Together Development Agency Level Up Movement will provide transition planning and mentoring. YouthTHRIVE of NC will deliver yoga, mindfulness, and golf classes. Widow's Mite 2nd Chancers will offer transportation, mentoring, and workforce support for individuals experiencing deep poverty.
Tier Three winners include ZCMMMP, which will host a weekend wellness and self-defense camp. Money Box Academy will run financial literacy workshops. Hidden Gems will provide mentorship for young girls focused on leadership development.
