Fayetteville State Earns No. 5 Seed in NCAA Atlantic Region Tournament
FSU women’s basketball earns the No. 5 seed in the NCAA Atlantic Region Tournament.

Fayetteville State University's women's basketball squad secured an at-large bid to the 2026 NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Tournament. The announcement came Sunday during the NCAA Selection Show. They'll enter as the No. 5 seed.
The Broncos will battle No. 4 seed Seton Hill University in the opening round on Friday, March 13. It's a chance to prove themselves against tough competition.
Whoever wins advances to face either top seed Indiana University of Pennsylvania (26-3) or eighth seed Charleston (WV) (21-10). That Atlantic Regional Semifinal happens Saturday, March 14.
Head Coach Tyreece Brown leads the program in his third season. Brown guided FSU to the Sweet Sixteen in his first year and delivered back-to-back CIAA Championships in 2024 and 2025.
"This team has earned every bit of this opportunity," Brown said, per FSU Broncos. "Their commitment, their preparation, and their belief in one another have been the foundation of our success. We're excited to compete on the national stage once again."
Seton Hill will appear in the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season. FSU has reached the NCAA postseason twice under Brown.
Eight teams will compete in the Atlantic Region for a spot in the Elite Eight. Indiana University of Pennsylvania will host all regional games inside the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex in Indiana, Pa. Games tip off Friday, Saturday, and Monday, March 16.
The regional winner advances to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight. National quarterfinals through the championship game will be held at UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse on Duquesne University's campus in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from March 24-28.
The 64-team national field was announced during the Selection Show at 10:30 p.m. ET on NCAA.com. The Atlantic Region represents one of the nation's toughest brackets.
