Getty ImagesThe Lumbee Tribe Housing Department is now accepting applications for its Home Improvement Program. Monday brought the announcement. Applicants must turn in complete documentation.
You'll need a copy of your tribal enrollment card and picture ID. Social Security cards for everyone living in your household are required, along with birth certificates for household members who are 16 years or older.
Proof of income matters for each person in the home. Bank statements from all household members must be provided, too.
Those seeking rehabilitation assistance need a deed copy for their property. Filed lifetime right and bill of sale must be turned in. Disability proof is necessary if it applies to your situation.
Handicap accessibility needs require a letter from your doctor. This paperwork ensures proper accommodations can be made.
The tribal offices in Pembroke take applications Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Staff emphasized that every checklist item must be completed before you arrive to apply. Processing won't begin until all documentation is turned in.
