Cumberland County Schools will host a job fair on March 28 between 9 a.m. and noon at Gray's Creek High School. They're recruiting educators and support workers for next year. Attendees can meet principals and district officials, discover vacancies, and interview right there.
The district seeks candidates for Pre-K through 12th-grade teaching roles, exceptional children's instructors, counselors, social workers, psychologists, speech-language pathologists, teacher aides, instructional support workers, bus operators, and custodians. Candidates can pre-register through the website.
CCS provides the biggest average teacher supplement across the Sandhills area. They also give the largest supplement for veteran instructors and licensed support workers. Instructors with 25 or more years of service may pull in supplements between $12,713 and $14,112.
"In Cumberland County Schools, we know that experience strengthens our schools," said Ruben Reyes, associate superintendent of Human Resources, in a press release. "Our goal is to recruit and support professionals who are passionate about helping students achieve their full potential. This job fair is an opportunity for talented educators and staff to join a district that values their knowledge, dedication, and impact."
CCS provides extra incentives for several hard-to-fill roles. New instructors can access a $2,000 salary advance. Classified workers receive a 6% yearly supplement.
Licensed exceptional children's instructors can score sign-on bonuses from $6,000 up to $8,000. Speech-language pathologists qualify for $10,000 sign-on bonuses.
