Carolina Angels To Provide Free Formal Wear for Women at March 28 Event
Carolina Angels hosts Don’t Stress The Dress event to provide free formal wear to women.

Carolina Angels will host its "Don't Stress The Dress" event Saturday, March 28, at 2 p.m. at A Touch of Country Venue in Harrells. Women who can't afford prom dresses, wedding gowns, or bridesmaid attire will receive free formalwear.
"It's an event that gives women a chance that might face difficult decisions or challenges during significant times, like weddings or being a bridesmaid or buying prom dresses, that the girls or their families can't afford formal wear," said Priscilla Campbell, a member of Carolina Angels, per the Bladen Journal. "It gives them a chance to come in and pick out a dress for free. They can get their shoes, jewelry, and dress of their choosing."
Each approved participant can pick one dress along with accessories. Donors have given all items for this first-time event, Campbell said.
The club spotted the need while running its annual toy drive that collects Christmas gifts for children. Members realized families struggled to buy prom attire as well as formal wear for those who do beauty pageants.
Members gathered formalwear from closets around town, cleaned everything, and prepared them for distribution. The group accepts donations of all sizes of formal dresses, heels, dress shoes, jewelry, clutches, and evening bags.
Campbell said the group wants this event to grow into a resource for families in the coming years. Donations can be arranged by contacting any club member. A Touch of Country Venue is located at 9700 NC 41 in Harrells.
